something really triggered what
that person said, "the play is not
in control in Shakespear's hand
anymore, it is in control of Iago"
in that case, can u draw parallel
between shakespear's ideologies
and Iago? even thought Iago is
considered to be the devil of the
play, as he even admitted by
saying 'for I am not what I am",
but he also said something very
deep and meaningful. I reckon Iago
is a way of seeing the nature of
humanity. he is an ancient, he
knows the weak spots of human
nature and he utilise that to
manipulate others. as othello gain
his power through his militaray
performances, Iago gain power
intelecturally. It's a fair trade
then why should he be considered
the evil character? he is just a
version of human when they're
desperate. in fact, many people in
my class like Iago, he is the only
male in the whole play that has a
brain, and is able to use language
effectively. he knows how to
communicate. unlike Othello, his
lack of communication skill is
also something that caused the
tragedy.
wait, just remembered, u can say
that the whole play is in Iago's
hand, but the end of the play is
turned to be under the control of
Emilia, as she grasps the power of
truth.but there is the question
of, did Shakespear use the ending
intentionally, or did he write it
coz he is a playright, he has to
write plays where ppl would watch,
and generally ppl condemn anything
their moral doesn't support. so...
yeah, that's what I thought
my class also suggest a gay
reading of Othello saying that
Iago is a confused homosexual, he
loves Othello so.....
首先，我要说，那个骂莎士比亚的人是个
笨蛋。
苔丝狄蒙娜和奥瑟罗的悲剧很大一部分是
他们自己造成的，一方对另一方的猜疑加
上双方缺乏冷静的沟通，这两者是在这个
时代的我看来，造成他们悲剧的两大原
因，若没有这两点，我相信尽管小人得
志，也不至于到无法收拾的地步。
然而爱米利亚的悲剧是谁造成的呢？是她
丈夫？或者仅仅是那个时代下悲剧的牺牲
品？
奥瑟罗的致命弱点就在于太轻信伊阿古，对
他是言听计从，其实有好多地方是可以看出
破绽的，只是他犯了世人普遍存在的毛病：
一自己的心境来猜测别人。
我觉得最大的悲剧在于苔丝狄蒙娜性格
过于刚烈，非要弄到以死明志，她应该
多想想丈夫的立场，他作为一个肤色不
同的人，在威尼斯贵族中是多么受排
挤，也难怪性格多疑又怕受伤。

his own fate, including his own
character, disposition and level of
intelligence, which is either
inherited or determined by his life
experience. Lovers are not
perfect, just as the circumstances
in which they live are not perfect,
although nobody wants to be
imperfect. It is just like people
are not as intelligent as they want
to be, therefore have to abide the
fact that they are stupid.
奥瑟罗根本是一个大白痴，大笨蛋！不要
怪我有种族歧视，粗鲁、无知、野蛮、有
勇无谋、四肢发达，头脑简单的一介武
夫！黑人！可怕！I FAINT!

奥瑟罗这部戏剧最后导致悲剧的主要原因在
于奥瑟罗自己不能够相信自己的妻子，当遇
到了某些事的时候他问也不问自己深爱的妻
对于他本人和他的妻子都是一种伤害。试想
如果他能够在没有把事情弄清楚之前能够问
一问他的妻子的话，或许这个悲剧就不一定
会发生的。他把夫妻之间最重要的互相信任
全部都抛在脑后了。如果两个人之间连最起
码的信任都没有了，那还有什么好说的呢？
虽然导致这场悲剧还有许多别的原因，但这
点我认为是很重要的原因之一。
