第47节:SUMMER夏(16) The second one is “The law of serenity through possession and consumption” (Mclaren 194). Religion now is like a “‘forgiveness rackets ’” (Mclaren 194). Which produce guilt and then offering forgiveness? Theocapitalism is the same:“it promises satisfaction and happiness through possessing and consuming, but always seek to inflate your desire for happiness, so you ’ll always need to posse and consume more, creating an impossible satisfaction”( Mclaren 194). The third law is“the law of salvation through competition alone, ” and the fourth law is “the law of freedom to prosper through unaccountable corporations. ” Thirdly, it is because of the globalization that it has been widely acknowledged that Americans have become more and more open-minded now. Which is good, for someone who doesn’t believe in God, but it is not good for religion. Religion is narrow-minded, biased, because it requires followers to do so. In Christianity, God says:“Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.”(NLT psalm 119:2) The influence of globalization is immense. To be the most globalized country in the world, America has a bit of every culture and every religion. Migrants come in, bringing fresh blood to everything: politics, economy, culture and religion. When everything is mixed up in America, a Christian country is nowhere in sight and probably never will be. People are free and open-minded; they find new things that make sense, but not only Christianity. It is obvious that the more mixed-up a family is, the more likely the child is going to choose different ways. I have a friend; being bi-racial, she choose to become an observer instead of a believer. That seems happened all the time in America, because there’s too many choices, you don ’ t stick to one thinking. A Christian said:“‘we need to allow people to choose other things, as God has given us free agency. Christians need to protect that right. And if it is an anti-Christian choice, so be it. I believe that is God ’s way ’” (Smith 117)
